apples galore

Monday starts my favorite week of the year! Apples are coming in! I am going to share what my plans look like, and what my actual centers are doing.

Okay, my plans:

A bunch of the same things this week. My core curriculum is the same, and we are switching out our centers to my Apple Unit.

Working on beginning sounds, students will identify the picture and the beginning sound, then write it on their response sheet.

This center students will match the Uppercase Apples and Lowercase Pies. Then find the correct box, and write the lowercase in the box.

Look at those cute apples with seeds, students will draw a card, count the seeds and write it on their recording sheets.

The students match the ten frame to the number and fill in the ten frame on the response sheet.

I have gotten a lot of questions about this on my FB page. I take 3 apples, cut one up, peel on and leave one whole. Everyday we measure them in a balance with unifix cubes and record the weight. Such an awesome activity to do! The kids LOVE it!

How about a little freebie for this nice Sunday afternoon! A flow map of the life cycle of an apple! Click the picture to head over to TpT to download this freebie!!

I am going to try to post tomorrow on some goodies I received from Lakeshore!

  1. This is terrific! Can't wait to use it. It's still a balmy 90 degrees here in Florida so it's been a little tough getting in the Fall mode :) Apples for the week, it is! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!
