I don’t know what it is, but I love Groundhog’s Day. I think it is because we have the hope of an early spring, and by February we have already had snow and freeezzzing temps!
We will start the week off with reading these books.
I surprised myself by having my centers printed/laminated/cut before school was out today! Shocking I know!
As you know I have 4 “tubs” and 7 literacy stations.
This is how I start with my centers. I have my four tubs laid out, ready to be filled. As I laminate, cut and copy I put them in the right tub.
Here are some pictures of our centers this week.
These are pretty self-explanatory. The Overhead station stuff is from Deedee Wills, you can get it here. I just love them, and so do my kids!
I found this game at Mardel’s in OKC. Got them 50% off, my favorite kind of sale!
Now onto my Word and Math Tubs. My lovely assistant Hannah did a wonderful job demonstrating them this week
This center is called “Shadow Sounds” the students segment the word, and write the ending sound in the box.
This is “Phil’s Phonics” the students look at the picture, use the logs, and spell the cvc words on their response sheet.
Dice! I love dice! The kiddos roll the two dice, figure out the addition sentence, and then write it down. With the answer of course. (This is where Mrs. Hoffer will be sitting this week, new concept!)
We finished numbers 0-20, and we are capping it off with some review. Working on identifying the teen numbers.
If you would like these centers, my unit can be found here:
Well, I am off to go shopping!! Hope you have a great rest of the weekend! Going to try to be back Sunday with a little bit more of what we are doing!
All your center activities look great!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many holidays in February/so little time!
