We all have those clip charts right? Well when my kiddos get about green (just during this time of the year) they get to pick a prize.  And lookie at these prizes!!

  4. I don't have a classroom, but when I did, I made sure I kept my kids engaged as much as possible. Now I actually spend my days testing, testing, and testing some more!

    Fun giveaway!

  7. The end of year for us is December, so there are a lot of whole school activities ie. picnics, waterfights and final assembly celebration practices. I taper off the structured learning and do fun things. The kids love performing plays, so we practice those so we can present them to our parents and other classes. And of course baking and Christmas activities seem to keep them all focused and engaged.

  9. I continue with my same behavior plan of pulling cards. We have several special events that we do at the end of the year and I tell my students they have to earn them by good behavior. It helps that they have something to work toward.

  10. I use a behavior clip chart all year, but it has not been as effective lately. My kids have lost their minds!! We've had a lot of "distractions" (testing, special guests, performances, etc), but I'm amping up the focus on ANY good behavior hoping that will increase it! LOVE OTC, too!!!

  12. I try to keep everything as normal as possible with lots of structure. I find that when I veer off my normal routine poor behavior follows. I spend the last week of school having a special theme each day to celebrate the end of the year. Students have to earn each special day by showing good behavior the weeks prior. beth.shavelson@browardschools.com

  14. I provide drawings for good behavior for extra trips to the treasure box. I also give extra "Buccaneer Bucks" so students can buy fun things like lunch with the teacher or extra free time fun.

  15. We really don't change our behavior plan. We do try to go outside for recess as often as possible. This helps some of the kids because they really like to play on the playground. dbednarsk@yahoo.com

  19. I pull the name stick of 1 person to be the Mystery Person, if that person is good then they get to look in the "Gold Box" at the end of the day. They don't know who I picked, so they all try to do their best.

  20. How do I handle the end of the year behavior...bribery! We have a bonus recess where they can eat their snack outside. I might find a Magic School Bus or Veggie Tale movie to watch. I have them move around more than usual doing many brain breaks from YouTube.
