I have spent ALL day in my classroom. I had a mini meltdown.

We start school 3 weeks from yesterday. Oh-My-Lanta! I will be camping for a week too. (With no wifi/cell service). We can obviously see where my time needs to be spent

Mrs. Lemons is having a Get to Know you linky, I wanted to share!

1. I am an Okie. Yup, I said it! However I did live in Kansas for 4 years to go to college. Even though I grew up in the country areaI am a CITY girl!!

2. I met my Hubby in college. He played football, and I played golf and was a student trainer.

3. I was accepted into Oklahoma State University 3 different times. I bleed orange and black, yet I never took a class from them! I am the BIGGEST football fan! I loved watching Dustin play football, and still to this day, I love it. I wake up early on Saturday morning just to watch GameDay!

4. I am an only child. I do however, have 9 cousins. My oldest girl cousin and I act like sister, we fought like cats and dogs when we were little, now we are super close!

Isn’t she super pretty! I am so proud of the young woman she has become! I am so sad that she will be a senior this year, and I can’t believe it! I still remember leaving my 1st grade class (where I was making a super cool rocket) to see her when she was born!

5. I am part of the ONLY 3rd Generation family to ever teach in my school district. My Grandma started teaching 51 years ago, and since then, we have always had a member of our family teaching. What can I say, it is in my genes!

This is my on my 1st day of 1st grade, in my mom’s bathtub (the very same one that is in my classroom)

6. Dustin and I do have children. They just are of the K9 variety! We treat them just like I would my kindergarteners! I have been known to tell them they didn’t make a good choice! My Little Leo, is a whopping 14 lbs and then my Baby Atlas. Who weighs almost 100 lbs.

7. I devote 110% to my kinder kiddos. I don’t think I could do any other job!

Monday Made it and GIVEAWAY

This will be a full blogpost! (If you make it to the end there will be a giveaway)

First of all! We will start with Monday Made it! I made this freebie this weekend.

It is flashcards (Both upper/lowercase), Fluency strips, assessment page (For teacher to mark on) and a pdf that you can flip through that show each of the letters in the order of the assessment. I am needing things for my Intervention tub, and this fits the bill for Letter Naming.
I also “made” these little centers in my classroom. The first is my pocket chart center, (look at the cute little bench, I did make it)

Then when you walk in my door there is my tree that my kids will check in with, and the free choice options.  (Please ignore the mess )

(Does that count? I have been super busy moving stuff in my classroom that I haven’t made anything really crafty this week)

I just wanted to blurt out before I get started on my post, tomorrow is our 1st anniversary! On July 16th, 2011 I married my best friend and better half!

Then to show off my teacher side…

Still a year later, people tell me I can throw a pretty awesome party

I have been doing a little upholstery work for my classroom.

 

I am loving these cute little chairs! I will show you when I get back where I am going to put the bench. I have the perfect place for my “Pocket Chart” center. It will be awesome!

Fun week and Exciting Announcment!

Boy have I had a fun and busy week! I think that my husband and I were born into the wrong families. He is big into hunting and fishing, which my family is big into. His grandma and mom are BIG into crafts. Hello?! I LOVE crafting!

While they were down here, we did some MAJOR crafting. His grandma made me ALL NEW PILLOWS for my bathtub. I am so excited! I still had monkey pillows from my 1st year. So cute now!

Then she took my Toms, that had holes in the toes and covered them in Wardog Blue material. I am going to put white paw prints on the toes, so I can wear them on Fridays!

I’m sure you have seen these cutie-patooties on Pinterest. I just HAD to have one for my front door. I finally finished it up this weekend. Hubby was actually impressed. However; Im not sure if he was impressed because it was cute or because I took down the Easter Bunny!

Then I made another Teacher’s Toolbox. I made my first one when I was going to do primary colors in my room, but now that I’m doing bright colors I made a new one and donated my primary one to one of my 1st grade teachers.

What week of crafting doesn’t involve a couple of trips to Hobby Lobby, so of course we had to go . On our way we stopped at the 3 corners of OK, MO, and KS. Had to have a photo op!

I was in MO, Sister was in OK and GMa was in KS. Sister was so tickled. We went to a Hibachi Steak House. So. Yummy.

Ever since I was a little girl I wanted a little sister. Now I have one and we have the necklace to prove it!

Today when they left Hub and I went to go start moving furniture into my classroom,.. SOoo excited! Ignore the mess and look at all I have accomplished so far!

Then we had to cool off at my parents pool! Atlas is my big 100lb lab, isn’t he a cutie.
