I also uploaded my read the room packet. This is what I use during the beginning of the year. Just like the Ocean unit, it will be 50% off til tomorrow night.

Welp it is Friday! We have had such a crazy week! Or maybe it just seems that way :) We talked about insects this week, surprisingly the girls were more into it than the boys were!  We did these cute projects from Amy Lemons, demodemoFrogsandButterfliesLifeCycleFun
My little guys did a REALLY good job making these!

Then this is something that I did last year too. I think I might of found it online last year.

We had a little drama with our chicken eggs. I didn’t do it correctly. They were supposed to hatch on Wednesday. Well that day came and went, and still no chickens. So I went and “borrowed” some from another teacher in town! The kids were none the wiser :)

Today was the big day, we got to go on a field trip! They were all sorts of excited and I was a little bit just as excited! We first got to feed the goats. The goats were so impatient with the little hands that they had to get the food themselves.
Then we went trout fishing in the big pool of water. That was SUPER fun/sad. The workers tried so hard to “fix” it, but some of the kiddos were heartbroken that they didn’t catch a fish.
Then came the GRAND FINALE!
The Camel.
And yes, Mrs. Hoffer DID ride the camel, and sang, “Sally the Camel had One Hump” the entire time. I was the “cool” teacher for about a whole 30 seconds! I wish I could post the pictures to prove it.
Pshew! I think this is one of my longest posts! Lost of pictures too! I had to make up for my two weeks of laziness and not posting anything. Be on the lookout for some new products!

Hunker Down!

As any true Okie would day, “Hunker Down, there’s a Storm a-coming!”. Welcome to the ‘Nado Ally peeps! Who would of thought the thought of one of these bad boys would knock my kiddos of kilter! After the May 22nd Tornado in Joplin, my kids are super wary of tornados and storms in general. So I am slaving away working on a weather unit, so they can be more accustomed to what comes with storms before ‘Nado season really hits! So I spent all weekend with my doggies and my ‘rents in their basement!

We start back with State Testing tomorrow, so today was our only day this week we could talk :) We are starting to talk about The life cycles of a butterfly! Look at how cute these little charts came out! We really talked about Non-Fiction books and are going to write our own tomorrow.

Caterpillars come from eggs.

Caterpillars make chrysalises.

He turns into a beautiful butterfly.

Make a cocoon.

They eat their shell

They can defend their selves

They breath through their sides

They eat leaves

4 stages of life cycle

I LOVE their inventive writing, but I can really tell we need to work on capital letters and finger spaces! I forgot the labeling of a caterpillar, Oops!

Friday the 13th

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th. What could make the crazy day, during testing week, the day after a sub better? You are right! A FLASH Sale in both my TpT and TN stores!

I woke up this morning and was puking my guts up! What a way to start the day, so I had to call my principal, bawling the whole time to tell him I wasn’t coming in today. I don’t call in sick often so he was a little bit shocked!

So today between sleeping and sleeping, I did a little blog hopping.Saw a lot of things to do with “The Rainbow Fish”. I can’t wait to do my ocean unit! I made a CVCe game to go with it!

Then I had to so some laminating. I USED to have two laminators, one at home and one at school. Then my dear friend Alexandria (or Lex as the kiddos call her)

photo(3)decided she needed to munch on the cord. So I had to cart all of my lamination home to work on. Has anyone tried the new Scotch laminator? I saw it at Wal-mart and now I have a reason to try it out! I will let you know what I think Smile

Next week we are reading “The Little Engine that Could” so I made this little response sheet.(Sorry you have to go to TpT to download) Slide1

Sunday Funday

What a way to end my lovely Easter Sunday!

Kelly over at  button-778 tagged me in a little game. Here are the rules!

Post these rules.
*Answer the 10 questions that the tagger posted for you.
*Create 10 questions of your own to ask the people that you're about to tag. (I'm missing how many people I'm suppose to tag, so I'm going to make up my own number!)

1. Was there a blog that inspired you to create your own? If so which blog inspired you? Which one DIDN’T! I followed Growing Kinders, Deanna Jump, and Julie Lee. Those got me started, then I was following about a million before I took the leap!

2. What is your favorite place to visit? Hmm… I LOVED Washington D.C. and I also loved Florida. But I love to visit NW KS, where the Hubs family lives!

3. What are you planning on doing over the summer? Teaching Swimming Lessons, I am a lifeguard, and the thought of spending all my summer with 25 16 year-old scares the daylights out of me!

4. What is your favorite kind of writing utensil? Mr. Sketch Smelly Markers!

5. Do you create things for TpT? If so which item are you the most proud of that you posted? I do sell on TpT! I LOVE IT! My favorite item is my RainyDay math unit. I had to redo it 3 times because my computer deleted it.

6. What do you love to teach? I love to teach Reading. It is amazing to see those babies come to me in August knowing no letters and them leaving my room reading on a 1st grade level.

7. What is your most memorable experience from school. I would probably say last year at the end of the year. It was my first year and they made such growth. Right before they all left, each and everyone of them wrapped their arms around me and said “I love you Miss Lewis”. Still breaks my heart!

8. What have of behavior management system do you use in your classroom? I have a modified version of the clip chart. (Please ignore the messy classroom!)photo(2)

9. What's your favorite color? (I'm running out of question ideas!) Orange, Pink and Blue! (Can’t ya tell Smile)

10. Are you counting down to summer break? Absolutely not counting down the 27 days we have left Winking smile I love my kiddos and I love my job, but I am one tired KinderTeacher!

Now the tagging begins:

And the 10 questions:

1. What made you want to be a teacher?

2. What is your most used school supply?

3. Where is your favorite school supply store?

4. What blog inspired you to start your blog?

5. What is your favorite standard to teach?

6. What is your most memorable moment in teaching?

7. Do you create on TpT? If so, what is your favorite item?

8. Do you use centers? If so, how do you manage them?

9. What are your big plans for summer?

10. Are you counting down to summer?

Wheh! Now onto my exciting part. If you are one of the 1st three people to comment, I will send you one of my new products I just posted to TpT!

Rain Rain

Rain Rain Go Away! I want tomorrow to be a beautiful Sunny Day! Easter is probably my favorite holiday. Because it is rainy today, instead of cleaning house (like I should have been doing) I worked on some things for TpT.

abc chartsaxon phonics posters

The 1st is a chart and it is a freebie, the 2nd is a set of posters and they are only $1. They align with Saxon Phonics!

I am still working on “There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Shell” Emergent Reader. I will have to go get the book from school tomorrow.

Have a Very Blessed Easter!

Tomorrow is our last day with kiddos, and boy do we have a lot of fun activities planned! We are going to dye eggs with Kool-Aid, make Easter baskets out of paper plates, and who knows what other things we will  get into!

Well I can smell my eggies, better go get them! I will be sure to share my pics tomorrow.
