C-Line Dry Erase Pockets

I was given the opportunity to review these C-Line Reusable pockets from When they contacted me, I was tickled!! We have “No Worksheet Wednesday” and these are perfect for centers.
This is Annie Moffatt’s Sight Word phones.

My kids were really good about showing me their work before they erased it.
We also used them when we were working on our Police Appreciation Books. They practiced writing the word on the dry erase pocket before they wrote it on the final copy for our book. (This picture I did write for them, we were running out of time!)
You definitely need this in your classroom. I can’t wait to start the year off with them! Just think of all the name practicing we can do and not waste a page of paper!
Go check them out here:
Have a good rest of your weekend!

Welcome Gorillas

Hello Friends! For those of you who are regular visitors here this is a different post. For my fellow Gorillas welcome to my little place on the web!

I am an

okie blogger

who loves to talk about my passion…

I am currently enrolled at

getting my masters in Library Media and Educational Technology.

I use this little place in cyber space to talk about what is going on in my classroom, what works and what isn’t working.

I hope you stick around, I will be back tomorrow with a post on how I use dry erase pocket in my room.

a little #TBT

Cara over at The First Grade Parade is doing this FAB linky, of course I am linking up! (What else would I be posting?) We are posting some old blog posts.
This post actually was a guest post I did, so it is somewhat new to y’all here.
Go check out some more #tbt posts!
I was thinking and thinking and thinking and it hit me! Hey, you DO have a pretty good way of keeping your monthly ideas together!
This was the view of my classroom midsummer when I implemented my new system.
Classroom Organization, organizing books by month
I will spare you the pictures of the MOUNTAINS of books that it whittled down to this! I sat in a circle and sorted my books by month. It took me FOR-EV-ER!
Then I laid the rest of the 9 tubs on the floor, and as I came across centers, pencils, cutouts, or anything that I would need that month, into the tubs it went.
Classroom Organization, organizing my "stuff" by month
This is how I keep my tubs. See the yellow arrow, those are my tubs. Top row is my “stuff” tubs and bottom row holds my books.
Now you ask, you have your pencils, books, premade centers, where are all your files. Well I have one answer for you.
My new external hard drive! I have no paper copies of anything, other than my books. Which I keep within a reach of my computer.
This is my book and dvd/cd library. For teacher hands ONLY

End of Year

Well I have been kinda absent around here. But I was hoping I could make up for it by letting you know what I was up to the last few weeks of school. Go check out all these other awesome ideas!
Slide1 (2)
We had something going on for the last 10 days of school. Not in order:
Concert Day: We had the wonderful Mrs. Debbie Clement come visit us via Skype
Pet Day: Parents brought their students pets, and the kids got to walk them around to show them off.
Police Appreciation Day: We walked donuts down to the police department. We have a soft spot for the local Police Winking smile
Minute to Win It: This was our AR party. We had tons of fun!
Baseball Day: We learned how to play Baseball and eat Cracker Jacks.
Awards Assembly:  We handed out Candy Awards and our Sight Words awards. They also got a cute picture of them in the cap.
Read In Day: We did a day of reading. The kids wear their Jammies and read around the room. During that time I take the kids one by one and we make my annual class gift to myself. I do handprints of each of my kids, and then glue their pictures on them. I have 4 of these now, and I treasure them!
Penny Wars Reward Party: The K-2 classes won Penny Wars so we got to go play fun games! We had bouncy houses but it rained so we played with PE equipment (Which was just as fun!)
Last Day: We have SO much fun on the last day! We have 4 big inflatables, popcorn, pop, cotton candy, sno-cones, and Karaoke! Lots of Fun! This was my outfit for the last day.

Well I have a new obsession! It is CHEVRON!! Since I wasn’t a fan of the Owl and Cupcakes, and some of my darlings CUT the ribbion. I had to recover.

Ta-Da!! Look at how CUTE they are!!! Now I just need Hubby to cut me some more wood so I can make more!

I am planning on doing 18 more so each of my kids has one at their desks. That way they can put their crayon box and markers under their seat!

Have a good week!!

June 1

Hello my friends…It is SUMMER TIME!!!! That explains why I have not been around here. I have been busy pinning crafts, reading a book on Guided Reading, cleaning my classroom…Wait, is that not what teachers are supposed to do over summer. Remember my job is my hobby :)

farleybutton (2)

It is the time of the month again. Time to link up with Farley and her Currently!

Listening: To Love it or List it. Mindless Drabble…

Loving: That it is summer break!!! I am so EXCITED!

Thinking that I need to be more productive, super productive at reading, sleeping in, pinning. Not so much about cleaning house, dishes, cooking or laundry.

In response to previous I need to get off my hinny and do some cleaning! I wish someone would come do it for me!!

And my three essentials: A Good Book, A BIG Dr. Pepper and my Hubster. Have been enjoying seeing him more since we have been out of school.

See ya later!!
